Zygomatic Dental Implants - Orlando, FL

Helping Orlando, FL, Patients Overcome Severe Bone Loss with Zygomatic Implants

“I Was Too Focused On Other Things Except Taking Care Of My Teeth”

What Are Zygomatic Dental Implants?

Has a previous dental provider told you that jawbone deterioration makes you ineligible for dental implants? This can result in challenges such as inadequate support for your remaining teeth and potential changes to your facial appearance. At Watson Dental, we offer a solution for everyone, especially those told conventional dentures were impossible, ensuring that full mouth dental implants are within reach.

Zygomatic implants offer an alternative to traditional dental implants, particularly for individuals facing significant bone loss in the upper jaw. Unlike conventional implants that rely on jawbone anchorage with 4-6 implant posts, this method secures implants to the sturdy zygomatic bones in the cheeks.

By utilizing the robustness of the zygomatic bone, we expand the potential for full mouth dental implants, even for patients previously deemed ineligible for standard implant procedures. This advanced approach enhances treatment options, ensuring more patients benefit from comprehensive dental restoration solutions.

The Benefits of Zygomatic Implants

Are You a Good Fit for Zygomatic Implants?

Zygomatic dental implants are ideal for individuals with significant jawbone loss, typically due to advanced periodontal disease, injury, or prolonged tooth loss. Those who may not qualify for traditional dental implants due to insufficient bone density in the upper jaw are often excellent candidates for zygomatic implants.

This advanced procedure uses the zygomatic bone (cheekbone) for support, bypassing bone grafting. Good candidates are generally healthy individuals with stable oral health who seek a long-term, reliable solution for restoring function and aesthetics to their smile. Zygomatic implants offer an opportunity for people who thought they might be ineligible for dental implants to regain a fully functional, confident smile.

How We Place Zygomatic Implants

At Watson Dental, every dental implant procedure begins with a thorough consultation. We will review your medical history during this initial appointment and discuss your dental needs and aesthetic goals.

Following a comprehensive oral examination, we’ll utilize digital X-rays and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans to create a detailed 3D image of your bone structure, nerves, and sinus cavities. This advanced imaging technology ensures precise planning and placement of your dental implants for optimal results.

Once your treatment plan is finalized, we will proceed with your implant surgery. Utilizing your chosen sedation option, we will create small incisions in your gums and insert 4-6 dental implants into your zygomatic (cheek) bone. Typically, one zygomatic implant is positioned on each side of the upper back arch, accompanied by 2-4 conventional implants in the anterior region.

Following implant placement, we will attach an abutment connector to support your temporary restoration, allowing you to experience the benefits of your new smile during the healing process.

Over the next 4-6 months, your implants will integrate with your bone through osseointegration. Once your mouth has fully healed and stabilized, it will be ready to support the final prosthesis. This set of permanent teeth is meticulously crafted to match your facial structure, skin tone, lip contours, and gum line for a natural appearance.

Once placed, you can enjoy eating all your favorite foods, smile confidently, and experience restored self-assurance. With regular check-ups and diligent at-home care, your implants can provide lasting benefits for a lifetime.
